Who We Are

Mission

Helping companies to be profitable and sustainable by developing and implementing improvements to their production and distribution operations, and planning for future operational requirements.

Depth of Experience

We have delivered high-performance production and distribution operations for over 60 companies – large and small – providing design and leading the team from the initial concept and goal-setting phase through completion and ramp-up. We have managed these projects many times and we know what is necessary to deliver high performance, on time, with a lean budget and high return on investment. We study hundreds of operations in our business and we learn something from every operation, every team and every project.

Our strength is the ability to look at operational problems from several angles – Staffing and scheduling, process flow, work methods, quality and accuracy, management systems, equipment, facilities, economic return on investment, vendor relationships, and customer requirements. This combination of skills increases the avenues for operational improvement, and ensures that all bases are covered for a successful implementation. We find the solution that has the best fit for your needs.

We also have experience managing and directing large production and distribution operations, and we appreciate the tough decisions that our clients face every day.

Daniel J. Kocer, PE

Daniel J. Kocer, PE is the owner of Kocer Consulting and Engineering and has over 20 years experience with managing projects, and designing and improving production, distribution and administrative operations. Dan has helped scores of companies, both large and small, and has experience managing and directing production and distribution operations.

Dan obtained his degree in Industrial Engineering from Oregon State University and received his Professional Engineer (PE) license from The State of Washington. Professional organizations include Board of Directors for Kent Chamber of Commerce, Chairperson for the Kent Chamber Distribution Task Force, APICS, and Lean Institute.

Kocer Consulting and Engineering founded Best Practice Tours, a professional organization for executives and managers that desire to share distribution and manufacturing best practices through on-site tours and presentations of successful operations in the Puget Sound Area. He recently teamed with Kent chamber of Commerce to sponsor a tour every month at a manufacturing or distribution operation in the Puget Sound.
